Count Your Blessings in the Storm

Hello this is Anna and Alyssa, daughters of Kristina. Our mom is not feeling well right now and so she asked us to write this post for her.

We both know how hard it is to be grateful when you are sick.  It feels like everywhere we look, left or right, everybody either is sick; is coming down with something or has allergies.  We thought today as we were writing this post that we would like you not to focus on the physical side of the illnesses but we want you to look at it from the spiritual side. Often when we say that we are sick, we say that our bodies are fighting something. Today let’s take a moment. Whether you are sick or whether it is someone in your family or even one of your friends, we want you to encourage that person not to say I am fighting something but encourage them to say; that by the grace of God we are conquering over sickness!

Use this time of sickness to be a time to count your blessings.

Dear heavenly Father,

Thank you for all the blessings you have given me,  help heal me and those around me, who are sick or in need at this time. Please help me to remember my daily prayer time and help me in my constant need. Please help me not to be angry that I am sick.  Help me to feel rest so that I can take care of my self properly and most of all help me to count my blessings.

Amen

Finally to finish out this prayer post, we are going to leave you with an excerpt from the hymn Count your blessings.

” Count your many blessings, name them one by one, And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.”

Well said girls!  Thank you for exhorting us to speak LIFE especially on those days we feel yucky.  We will never run out of blessings to count, right?!  🙂  God bless The Provision Room.
